We had a great day at The Den today planting trees in our outdoor learning area. This has been organised by Mrs Jackson and we felt it was the perfect chance to build a better future whilst also doing something to commemorate those we have lost during COVID-19.
We loved celebrating One Britain One Nation Day as a school. With everything that has happened in the world during the past eighteen months because of the COVID-19 pandemic, it felt wonderful to celebrate together and recognise that we look different, or be born in a different place, but that we are all people. Have a look at the photos below.
This term, some pupils have taken part in another All Stars competition! Like in Autumn term, we have run this differently due to restrictions. Instead of our usual big event in the hall, we have filmed our competitions. Once again, we had some fantastic competitors this term - here are the videos the 4 competitions for Bronze, Silver, Gold and All Stars:
We love having different visitors in to see us at Miriam Lord. And today, our Year 2 children were treated to lots of different visitors from our friends at ZooLab. But they weren't human visitors, they were much more interesting than that. As you can see from the photographs we were visited by: snakes, millipedes, rats and other fantastic creatures. We can't thank ZooLab for joining us and for teaching us lots of new facts about the creatures they brought. Our children asked great questions and showed lots of bravery to touch the different animals.
As well a sour building project to construct a new Resourced Provision unit, there is a lot of work taking place on Church Street to build thirty new houses. They look to be working hard and we can now see some foundations. It's noisy work but gives us a chance to test out our managing distractions muscles as it can be quite tempting to watch the diggers at work.
We are over the moon to open our doors again to all pupils in school. It has been a challenging couple of months and we hope that today is the start of a road map that returns us all to some sort of normality. Better days are ahead families for everyone.
This term, our All Stars competition has run a little different to normal! Instead of our usual big event in the hall, we have filmed our competitions in bubbles. We had some fantastic competitors this term - here are the videos the 4 competitions for Bronze, Silver, Gold and All Stars:
Our school kitchen has been replaced over the summer holidays and we now have a new serving counter. We are really pleased with the result and are now able to offer children even more choice at lunchtimes. The finished design looks absolutely stunning as well.
